C.S. Corbin
C.S. Corbin (b. 1992, Fort Walton Beach, FL) is a visual artist based in Washington, D.C. They work in acrylic and sculptural mediums as well as digital illustration. Corbin grew up in Northwest Florida and earned their BA in Studio Art & International Affairs from Florida State University in 2013, followed by a career in winemaking. In 2020, Corbin began creating again and their art practice has developed into a colorful exploration of identity, queer representation, consumption, and their southern roots. Corbin’s body of work reflects their personal healing process of honoring past and future selves and the multifaceted beauty of transition. Their work has been included in exhibitions at Umbrella Art Fair, Touchstone Gallery, Transformer, DuPont Underground, Hera Gallery RI, Playhaus, The Katzen Arts Center, Washington Studio School and Rhizome DC. In July 2024, Corbin featured their first solo exhibition at Thundershark Gallery in DC. They are currently in an apprenticeship with Capitol Hill Stained Glass Studio, DC.
